HOW TO OPERATE & CARE FOR YOUR WATCH
WATCH OPERATION & CARE
Learn how to set up, operate, and care for your PUNCH Semper watch. Expand the sections below for step-by-step guidance.
We've Gone Digital 🌍
To reduce waste and better support our global customers, we've moved our watch instruction booklets online.
This change helps us protect the environment while making it easier for you to access instructions in multiple languages anytime, anywhere.
Each watch is wound and tested before dispatch to ensure it’s running perfectly. However, as your watch may have been in transit for a few days, we recommend giving it a quick manual wind to top it up before wearing.
You’ll also find protective films on the front glass, case back, and - if your watch has a metal strap on the bracelet links or clasp.
Please remove all protective films before first use.
The PUNCH Semper features a mechanical movement with both manual and automatic winding, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern practicality.
Unlike fully automatic watches, the Semper’s self-winding rotor provides only a light top-up of power during wear - it does not fully maintain the power reserve through motion alone.
For best performance, manual winding is essential, especially if your daily routine involves limited wrist movement (for example, working at a desk). This ensures your watch remains fully powered and keeps time accurately.
A full wind provides approximately 20–24 hours of power reserve. While the automatic rotor may slightly extend this during active wear, a daily manual wind is recommended to keep your Semper performing at its best.
After winding the watch, gently push the crown back into its original position against the case. Ensure it’s pressed in fully and securely - this helps maintain the watch’s water resistance and protects the movement from dust and moisture.
For best performance, wind your Semper once a day, ideally at the same time each day. With a power reserve of around 20–24 hours, regular daily winding keeps the watch running accurately and prevents the movement from stopping.
While the automatic rotor provides a small power boost during active wear, it isn’t designed to keep the watch fully charged through motion alone - especially during less active routines such as desk work. Wearing your Semper regularly and winding it daily will ensure smooth, reliable timekeeping.
Your PUNCH Semper has a power reserve of approximately 20–24 hours when fully wound. This means that after a full manual wind, the watch will continue to run for about a day, even if not worn.
The Semper includes a light automatic rotor, which provides a small energy boost during active wear - for example, when walking or moving your arms naturally. However, this rotor does not generate enough power on its own to keep the watch running indefinitely, especially if your daily activity is limited or mostly stationary (such as desk work).
To keep your watch performing at its best:
By combining light wrist movement with regular manual winding, you’ll enjoy both the authentic feel of a hand-wound timepiece and the convenience of mechanical precision.
Your PUNCH Semper watch offers a water resistance rating of 5 ATM (50 metres), providing reliable protection against light water exposure. This means it can comfortably withstand splashes, rain, and brief contact with water, such as when washing your hands or being caught in the rain.
However, it is not designed for full submersion or prolonged exposure to water. Activities such as swimming, diving, showering, or bathing should be avoided.
Important: Exposure to hot water, saunas, or steam can cause the water-resistant seals to expand and contract, leading to deterioration over time. This may allow moisture to enter the watch and damage its internal movement.
To maintain optimal protection:
The Semper is built to handle everyday life with confidence, but it remains a mechanical dress watch, best cared for by avoiding unnecessary water exposure.
Your PUNCH Semper features a mechanical automatic movement with manual winding, crafted for precision and built without electronic regulation. Because of the nature of mechanical timekeeping, slight variations in accuracy are completely normal and form part of the character of a finely made watch.
Over time, you may notice small gains or losses in time - this is a natural trait of all mechanical watches and not a defect. Each Semper is composed of intricate components working together purely through mechanical energy, and its performance can be influenced by daily activity, temperature changes, and how consistently it’s wound.
These subtle differences are what give a mechanical watch its unique personality - a reflection of both its craftsmanship and your own routine.
Keep your Semper wound daily and avoid exposure to strong magnetic fields. If you notice significant or ongoing deviations, have your watch inspected by a professional watchmaker - minor adjustments can restore peak precision.
Your PUNCH Semper is a finely tuned mechanical timepiece, designed with precision engineering. While built to handle everyday wear, external factors such as magnetism, shocks, and temperature extremes can influence its performance.
Keep your watch away from magnetic fields - for example, mobile phones, speakers, televisions, and electronic devices.
A magnetized hairspring can cause the movement to run fast, slow, or stop altogether. If you suspect your watch has become magnetized, a professional watchmaker can quickly demagnetize it and restore normal operation.
Although crafted for strength and reliability, the Semper’s mechanical movement contains delicate components.
To protect it:
Your watch is designed to operate within normal temperature ranges, but extreme heat or cold can impact its performance.
By protecting your Semper from these environmental stresses, you’ll help maintain its accuracy, reliability, and refined finish for years to come.
Your PUNCH Semper is a precision mechanical timepiece. Proper handling and care during winding, strap changes, and adjustments will help preserve both its performance and finish.
To prevent unnecessary strain or potential damage to the crown and stem, we recommend winding your watch off the wrist. This ensures a straight winding motion and protects the internal mechanism.
Always wind your watch over a soft surface, such as a cloth or mat, to avoid damage in the event of an accidental drop.
Regular manual winding keeps the movement’s lubricants evenly distributed and ensures consistent performance.
Wind your watch daily, or periodically if not worn, to maintain smooth operation - particularly in colder weather, when lubricants can thicken slightly and reduce efficiency.
When changing the strap, always place the watch face-down on a flat, smooth surface to protect the crystal and case from scratches.
Take care when using spring bar tools, and ensure the pins are fully secured before wearing the watch.
Some Semper models feature stainless steel link bracelets with removable links for a custom fit.
We recommend visiting a qualified jeweller or watch technician for adjustment - most will perform this for a nominal fee, usually £10.00.
If you prefer to adjust the bracelet yourself, ensure you use high-quality tools and follow a reliable guide (numerous step-by-step videos are available online).
Avoid using cheap or makeshift tools, as incorrect removal can cause damage to the strap or finish.

Parts & Controls
Follow this guide to adjust your watch & strap.

1 - The Crown is locked, creating a waterproof barrier. This is the winding & wearing position. You can wind the watchclockwise in this position. If you feel any tension do not continue to wind the Watch. To fully charge please turn the crown 25-30 turns “Clockwise”
2 - The crown is open. In the second position you can adjust the time. Please wind anti-clockwise and if you go past the desired time, wind in a full anti- clockwise motion until you reach the desired time. Do not adjust the time in a clockwise position.

Your PUNCH Semper features an interchangeable quick-release strap system, allowing you to easily change straps without tools.
Simply slide the small release lever (③)in the direction of the arrow to detach or secure the strap.
Always perform this over a soft surface to avoid damage to the case or crystal, and ensure both ends of the strap are securely locked before wearing.
